Cardiology

The Cardiology Department at Babylon Medical Practice uses state-of-the-art technology, along with over thirty years of experience, to evaluate heart function and diagnose heart disease and disorders.

Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, Detection, and Treatment

Our Cardiology services span the entire spectrum of patient care, ranging from cardiovascular disease prevention and detection to pharmacologic and interventional treatment. We work closely with the divisions of cardiac and vascular surgery at your hospital, delivering the most innovative and comprehensive care.

BMP can provide electrocardiogram services. An electrocardiogram, or EKG, is a brief recording of the electrical impulses or rhythm of the heart through electrodes placed on your chest, arms, and legs. This allows us to asses and diagnose ischemia and other abnormalities, and can help to identify high risk for a stroke or heart attack.

In the field of Cardiology, Ultrasounds have a wide variety of applications for imaging blood vessels including arteries and veins. Lower Extremity Venous Ultrasounds are typically performed if a clot in the vein is suspected. Lower Extremity Arterial Ultrasounds may be performed in patients with peripheral arterial disease.
