In the field of Cardiology, Ultrasounds have a wide variety of applications for imaging blood vessels including arteries and veins. Lower Extremity Venous Ultrasounds are typically performed if a clot in the vein is suspected. Lower Extremity Arterial Ultrasounds may be performed in patients with peripheral arterial disease.

Dr. Richard A. Shlofmitz M.D. FACC
Richard A. Shlofmitz, MD, FACC, is Chairman of Cardiology at St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center, where he has practiced since 1987. Performing over 1,000 coronary interventions annually, he has one of the largest volumes of experience in Percutaneous Intervention. He also has the most clinical experience with orbital atherectomy and optical coherence tomography (OCT) world-wide. Dr. Shlofmitz has been one of the largest enrollers for multiple clinical trials, with more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed cardiology journals. Dr. Shlofmitz has worked to advance the field with a focus on Precision PCI. He is a founding co-director of the annual Intravascular Imaging and Coronary Physiology Course.

Dr. Sergio Sokol
Dr. Sergio Sokol is s a board-certified Cardiologist “American Board of Cardiology, American Board of Nuclear Cardiology and American Board of Internal Medicine”. He received his medical degree from Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine. With his breadth of knowledge and diagnostic experience, Dr. Sokol has consulted for hundreds of doctors on the East Coast. Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death and deterioration of life in the United States. Dr. Sergio Sokol just recently named Chief of Cardiology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital of Far Rockaway.
Dr. Sokol has been awarded by Castle Connolly as Top Doctor for cardiology for thirteen consecutive years. He is recognized by his peers as one the leading cardiologist in the country and specifically leads the area of Cardiac Imaging. He leads a team of providers and nurse practitioners that provide coverage throughout the New York Metropolitan Region. He is affiliated with Mount Sinai Medical Centers and Northwell Health Centers throughout New York. Dr. Sokol provides extremely comprehensive and compassionate care for all his patients.
